Sarah Asmahan Hamady developed her visionary style in the downtown New York City scene. She busted out of Columbia with a phD in philosophy in search of better ways to explore and express authenticity, freedom and happiness. She found it in fabric, style, 70’s funk and God, the active ingredients in HOUSE de LUX.

Thus the movement of HOUSE de LUX was born. Hamady began her fashion career staging far-out fashion shows and opening the metallic gold flagship store on the Lower East Side. While launching her first line, Sarah was also making guest DJ appearances. That's where she met her Congolese husband and muse, NYC nightlife legend Jean Claude the Funky Pirate, who now oversees marketing for HOUSE de LUX.

The influence of African peoples and cultures is the final key ingredient in the HOUSE de LUX life and style philosophy. “LUX” is latin for ‘light’ and HOUSE de LUX is all about bright colors, flashy patterns and an infectious spirit of soul strength, freedom and joy.

Now based in Lisbon (Portugal), HOUSE de LUX offers strikingly cool, one of a kind pieces that are custom made for superstars as well as a limited collection of fresh streetwear (FALL 2024).

Wear the art, spread the light.
